Kupjack catalog and curio cabinet shelf. One of the prominent miniaturists of the 20th century. This is the larger of the two cabinets that the artist offered, #300A. The cabinet is 17 inches across the front; 11 1/2 inched tall and 9 1/2 inches deep.

Condition; over time the two longer shelves became detached from the rear wall. They have been left off for you to reposition. One of the shelves seemingly broke but has been expertly repaired. All conditions are apparent in the pictures. Quoting the catalog description for this item.

18th Century Silver Shop Curio Cabinet. A place to exhibit your miniatures collection. May be hung on the wall; placed on a book shelf or set on a table or bureau top. The cabinet is hinged at the side so that the entire front opens. Glass display shelves are attached on the inside of the window. Display shelves are also attached to the back of the cabinet. Silver pieces may be secured to the shelf with double faced gummed tape. Cabinet is illuminated with concealed light. This out of an estate which has a Eugene Kupjack 18th Century Silversmith Shop Curio Cabinet that was full of many of Eugene Kupjack miniature silver items and accessories.

Many of the items in the collection were acquired in the early 1970's. Kupjack, who died in 1991, was a renowned miniature artist who worked on at least 30 American rooms in the well-known Thorne collection at the Art Institute of Chicago. BONUS: With this sale the catalog from the original owner is included. There are her original "notes". Special to this catalog is the price list and the total amount that the owner added up and wrote down at the bottom of the price list.

It looks like she used the inside of the flap of the envelop to do her math. Though that looks like it was erased. Many, if not all, those items marked are listed in my other auctions. A great way to display your Kupjack items. There is a quarter sized scorch mark on the under side of the shelf where a candle must have been placed beneath the shelf. It can only be slightly seen at eye level. The shelf measures 16 by 10 1/2 inches. With the brackets being approx.

There is a notch in the rear of the shelf for a path for the light cord as well. Metal hangers appear to be brass or bronze.
